1. Volunteer!

We are always on the lookout for people to help appraise in our regional tournament every year. An appraiser plays a crucial role in our program by evaluating and scoring the creative solutions presented by student teams during our competitions. Appraisers assess various aspects, such as teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and performance quality, to provide constructive feedback and determine scores. They facilitate a fair and supportive environment for young minds to showcase their talents and innovations.

To volunteer as an appraiser, no previous experience is necessary. We provide training sessions to ensure appraisers are well-prepared for their roles, and they must also complete a background check to ensure the safety of all participants. Volunteering as an appraiser is a rewarding experience that allows individuals to witness the creativity and ingenuity of our future leaders up close.

APPRAISERS
  1. Must be at least 18 years or older.
  2. May no longer be enrolled in high school.
  3. Must attend an official appraiser training to be certified to appraise or officiate.

Don’t worry, if you’re under 18 and/or still in school, you can still volunteer for our non-appraising volunteer roles.

3. Donate!

Donating to a Destination Imagination (DI) tournament is a meaningful way to contribute to the success of these creative and educational events. Your generous donations, whether financial or in-kind, can make a significant impact.

Financial contributions help cover tournament expenses, venue rentals, and support scholarships for participating students. In-kind donations, such as providing water, food for volunteers, or tournament supplies, ensure the smooth operation of the event and create a welcoming atmosphere for participants and attendees. Your support goes beyond the tangible items; it fosters a sense of community and empowers students to showcase their innovative solutions. Every donation, no matter the size or form, plays a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of creative problem-solvers and innovators. When you make a donation, we’ll proudly feature your company or organization’s name on our website as a token of our appreciation for your support of our program.
